Preparation phase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cancer: Anti-inflammatory treatment (with Meloxicam as anti-inflammatory suspension); surgical removal of the tumor (no matter if metastasis has occurred or not), if possible; initial serum iron measurement<\/p>\n<p>Leishmaniosis: initial serum iron measurement<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.Treatment phase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>with LupArte 2.0 \u00ae<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determination of the serum iron (normal range between 140 \u2013 170 \u00b5g\/dl), often too low in case of a malignant tumor<\/li>\n<li>At the same time iron must be given either:<strong>A)<\/strong> <span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Orally in the form of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lupovet.de\/produkte\/ergaenzer-fuer-hunde\/lupovet-ergaenzer-a-z\/238\/lucefer-eisen-pulver?number=V724Fer120\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>LupoVet LuCefer Iron Powder<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">High-dose oral iron source with 10% absorption-promoting vitamin C<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Dosage: <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">administer up to 2 x 1 level measuring spoon per 10 kg live weight per day, ideally mixed with the feed in 1 tablespoon of wet food; <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Measuring spoon content: level = 4.5 g, heaped = 7.5 g<\/span><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nB)<\/strong> Or per injection of Ursoferran\u00ae (100mg\/ml); dosage: 100 mg\/10 kg weight initially two times a week (this is cheaper and more effective)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The iron application must be continued for the entire treatment period and adjusted accordingly to reach the (high) level of 250 + 30 \u00b5g\/dl.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From the fourth day onward, the animal must be treated with LupArte 2.0\u00ae capsules\/tablets three times daily. The dosage is about <strong>1400 mg\/m\u00b2 body surface<\/strong> and per day (see conversion table below). It is given in three partial dosages approximately every 8 hours if possible. The capsules shall be given 1 \u2013 2 hours before feeding and \u2013 if possible \u2013 without meat in a little piece of Gouda cheese.
